With the famous Brighton Pier as a backdrop, Brighton Beach in Sussex provides daytime traditional seaside fun mixed seamlessly with funky night time funky club culture. During the daytime, you can swim or sunbathe at Brighton’s topnotch pebble beach, enjoy sailing or water sports on the ocean, or just take a stroll on the Brighton walkway and sample the cosmopolitan character of the numerous bars and cafes. Once the evening arrives, visit one or more of the bars that dot Brighton’s beach under the Victorian arches that line the seashore.
In Lancashire, Blackpool Beach is a large beach with soft sand on which to rest. It is near a top United Kingdom amusement part, which is known as Blackpool Pleasure Beach. The theme park boasts more than 125 rides and shows, with the highlight being the Pepsi Max Big One, which has been rated as the UK’s best rollercoaster. You can find typical seaside fare along the beach, such as fish and chip shops, a pier, and donkey rides.
Situated in South Wales, Rhossili Beach offers commanding views, spectacular cliffs, burial cairns and mysterious shipwrecks. There is plenty to do on the 5km of sandy beach, which attracts bathers, surfers and fisherman. It is about as unspoiled a beach that you will find anywhere in the UK, and has a real charm to it. The village of Rhossili is close by where you can grab a bite to eat at one of the many eateries that offer spectacular views of the beach.
All of the locations listed above have several fine hotels, so you can stay for as long as you like. They typically cost between $50 to $150 a night, but there are some great deals to be had at certain times of the year.
